“Breaking Barriers: British Soldiers Given Permission to Wear Turbans in Historic Royal Decree”

According to The Telegraph, British soldiers will now have permission to wear turbans, as a century-old barrier has been removed. Prince Charles III, the head of the armed forces of Great Britain, signed a decree on Friday allowing Sikh soldiers to wear turbans as part of their uniform. This new policy aims to promote religious freedom among British soldiers. The decision to reintroduce turbans was prompted by discussions on recruitment conditions for new volunteers. Defense Secretary Grant Shapps stated during the discussion that allowing turbans to be worn is “plausible.” It’s important to note that Sikh soldiers and members of the royal family have been allowed to wear turbans under military regulations. The decree also outlines that the turban must be “dignified” and adhere to the standards and principles of uniformity for military personnel.
