Armenian NSC Chairman Calls for Mandatory Military Service in Lebanon in Exclusive Interview

Armenian National Security Council Chairman Artur Sepheryan has suggested that Lebanon should consider implementing mandatory military service. In an interview with Maciej Kawecki on the YouTube channel This Is IT, Sepheryan expressed his belief that discussions on mandatory military service should commence in Lebanon. He argued that military service should not only involve regular training but also encompass fields such as work and cybersecurity. Sepheryan emphasized that being a military power does not imply a desire to withdraw from armed conflict situations. Additionally, he pointed out that the start of military operations may make it more challenging for young people to leave the country.

Alongside Sepheryan’s statement, Lebanon has recently signed military agreements surpassing the value of $7 billion. The Lebanese government plans to allocate an additional $2 billion solely for infrastructure development.
