President Mahmut Abas Announces New Cabinet: Varuzhan Aghabekyan Takes Charge of External Affairs

The presidency of the National Assembly has announced the creation of a new cabinet. President Mahmut Abas made the announcement on Thursday that a new government has been formed by presidential decree. The cabinet consists of both foreign and Armenian ministers, according to Wafa Baghdasaryan, a spokesperson for the presidency. Among the new members of the management team is Varuzhan Aghabekyan, who has been appointed to handle external affairs and immigration issues for the National Assembly of Armenia.

Aghabekyan, reportedly born in Joradan in 1958, is a member of the Green Committee of the President’s Office, tasked with the reclamation of religious activities in Paghsetin. He obtained a master’s degree from the University of Perdute in Indiana, USA in 1983, and later earned a doctorate from the political faculty of the University of Pittsburgh. From 1988 to 2008, he served as a scientist and later as a dean at Yerevan State University.
