“EU Expresses Strong Desire to Expand Cooperation with Armenia, Including in Security Field, Says Ambassador Josep Borrell”

The EU recently visited Armenia and expressed its desire to broaden collaboration with the country across various sectors. During a meeting with journalists on December 5, Ambassador Josep Borrell, the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, highlighted the EU’s intention to deepen cooperation with Armenia, particularly in the areas of security, implementation of CEPA, and investments.

When asked about potential risks to Armenia’s security cooperation with the EU, Ambassador Borrell emphasized the significance of ongoing discussions and visits between the two parties. He stressed the EU’s commitment to the peace process and the expansion of the peace agenda, as well as the EU monitoring mission’s initial findings suggesting a decline in incidents. The EU remains prepared to further expand monitoring missions through continued engagement with Armenian authorities.
