“LCA” legal experts Arsen Sardaryan and Gurgen Nersisyan are currently involved in an ongoing criminal case being examined by the RA Court of Cassation on January 31, 2024. The defense representing the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia filed a motion to protect the constitutional rights of the Economic Affairs Minister, who was questioned as a witness in an international criminal case and allegedly subjected to pressure.

According to the statement provided by the Legal Chamber to NEWS.am, on January 31, 2024, the court (Judge T.Davtyan) denied the extension of the detention period for the Prime Minister. Consequently, T.M. will be released soon. During the discussion on the extension of detention, the defense presented documents revealing the lack of necessity and grounds for continuing T.M.’s arrest.

Following this development, lawyers Arsen Sardaryan and Gurgen Nersisyan expressed their intention to address the issue. T.M. claims that the “legal proceedings” against the Prime Minister, carried out within the international criminal case, exposed the abuse of power by T.M. Some aspects of these allegations will be presented partially, while the remainder will be submitted to the relevant authorities.

We hope that the judiciary will seek justice, expose any potential abuse of power by T.M., and protect his rights.
