“Armenia Implements 30% Fine Increase for Traffic Rule Violations Starting April 15th”

The State Revenue Committee has announced that starting from April 15th, fines for traffic violations paid within 15 days of the notification will be subject to a 30 percent increase. This system will begin operating on April 5th. According to the official statement from the SRC, if a violation of traffic rules is confirmed by a photo or video recording device on the vehicle or by a traffic police officer, the fine will increase by 30 percent if paid within 15 days of the notification. For example, a fine of 5,000 drams will be reduced to 3,500 drams if paid within the 15-day period. Similarly, a fine of 20,000 drams will be reduced to 14,000 drams if paid within 15 days. The 30 percent reduction only applies if the fine is paid within the specified time frame, and full payment will satisfy the obligation. The driver will be informed of the percentage of the reduction in the notification regarding the administrative penalty. This system will be implemented for violations committed after April 5th. Furthermore, starting from May 1st, the electronic notification system will also offer a 20 percent reduction for violations related to electrical communication devices. This information was provided through an official announcement from the Ministry of Finance and Economy in Armenia.
