Armenian Ambassador Lilith Makunts Explores Partnership Opportunities with Colorado Cities

The Armenian Ambassador to the United States, Lilith Makunts, recently visited Colorado on April 26th and 27th. During her visit, she visited the cities of Denver, Aurora, and Boulder. According to the Embassy of Armenia in the United States, Ambassador Makunts held meetings with various individuals and organizations.

On April 26th, she met with Stephanie Garnerikay, the director of international business development and opportunities for the Denver Economic Development & Opportunity Department. She also met with representatives of the Denver International Trade Office, the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, and other experts.

In Aurora, Ambassador Makunts had a meeting with Mayor Mike Coffman. Aurora is the most populous city in Colorado and has a thriving Armenian community that contributes to the city’s development and cultural programs. The mayor emphasized the active participation of the Armenian community in the city’s social life.

During her visit to the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) campus, Ambassador Makunts presented a letter of cooperation from Yerevan State University to the CU Denver rector. The discussions centered around the possibilities of collaboration between the two universities and the development of joint educational programs.

On April 27th, the ambassador met with representatives of the Armenian community in Boulder. The meeting focused on the role and significance of the Armenian community in Boulder, as well as the potential development prospects for Armenia.

Throughout the visit, Ambassador Makunts also met with representatives of Armenian diaspora organizations. The discussions revolved around cooperation opportunities, security issues, and the importance of the partnership between Armenia and the United States.
