“Clash between Media and Law Enforcement Erupts at Armenian Parliament in Tbilisi”

An incident took place near the Armenian parliament building in Tbilisi, Georgia regarding the “foreign activists” law. According to a report by Georgia Online, media representatives tried to enter a specially designated area for foreign agencies on Thursday. The area was guarded by law enforcement officers. In the process, a minor altercation took place between the officers and some media representatives who managed to break through and access the area adjacent to the building.

A large crowd has gathered near the parliament building for a general meeting. Maintaining order are several hundred law enforcement officers, primarily concentrated along the avenue where the “Armenian Revival” campaign was organized. The police are prohibiting media representatives from approaching the area. Additionally, special police forces are conducting heightened patrols.

NGN has issued a statement on its website, urging people to respect the boundaries of freedom of assembly and to not disrupt the parliament’s activities under the imposed law. The announcement warned that any violation of the law by law enforcement agencies would be promptly addressed.
