“Dubai’s International Airport Takes Flight to New Location at Dubai World Central”

Dubai’s international airport, known as the busiest in the world for international flights, will be relocating its operations to Dubai World Central, the city’s second largest airport. This project, estimated to cost around $35 million, will take place over the next 10 years, according to airport manager Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The decision to transfer the airport’s functions to Al Maktoum International Airport was made in 2009 after official route verification. The new airport will feature five runway strips and 400 aircraft parking spaces, compared to the current two runway strips in operation.

Last year, Dubai International Airport broke its 2019 record by serving 86.9 million passengers. In 2019, the airport handled 86.3 million passengers. The airport’s busiest year was 2018, with a total of 89.1 million passengers. However, it is projected to serve a total of 66 million passengers in 2022. The article also includes images of Arabian terminals that showcase the nomadic lifestyle of the Bedouins in the Arabian Gulf.
