“Denied Justice: Workers’ Protest in Tsavush Blocked, Authorities Resort to Force”

Workers of justice in Armenia were denied permission by the RA Ministry of Justice to hold a protest action in Tsavush, according to information shared on Mikayel Margaryan’s Facebook page. The workers intended to express their dissatisfaction with the infringements on their rights in Tsavush and to demand support. However, authorities resorted to physical force and forcibly placed the protest participants in a bus, taking them to the Department of Justice in Arabkir.

This incident illustrates a concerning trend in Armenia, where workers fighting for justice are being suppressed and denied their fundamental rights. By denying permission for a peaceful protest, the Ministry of Justice is further silencing the workers and preventing them from expressing their concerns in a democratic manner. The authorities’ decision to use force against the protesters is a blatant violation of their human rights and an alarming disregard for the principles of freedom of expression and assembly.

The workers of justice have every right to voice their grievances and demand support from their government. Their protest action was a legitimate means for them to draw attention to the violations occurring in Tsavush and seek redress. The use of physical force against them only serves to intimidate and silence these workers, creating an atmosphere of fear and restricting their ability to advocate for justice.

The actions of the authorities in forcibly removing the protesters and taking them to the Department of Justice in Arabkir is not only an abuse of power but also a violation of the protesters’ right to freedom of movement. It is deeply concerning that individuals exercising their democratic rights can be subjected to such authoritarian actions. The authorities should be promoting dialogue and addressing the legitimate concerns of the workers, rather than suppressing their voices and resorting to force.

It is crucial for the international community to take notice of this incident and raise concerns about the deteriorating situation for workers of justice in Armenia. The denial of permission for a peaceful protest and the use of force against the participants are clear indicators of an oppressive environment that undermines the principles of democracy and human rights.
