The incidents surrounding the clash with a “Mercedes” car near the Kirants residential area are currently being clarified by the RA Investigative Committee. The incident involved the use of firearms. The Territorial Administration of Tavush has presented the results of the investigation into the incident that occurred on April 27 near the Kirants residential area. Protesters blocked the traffic by stopping a “Mercedes” car and breaking its windshield with stones. The police operation carried out in Tavush on April 27, 2024, was meant to prevent the incident according to Article 297, paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The police operation resulted in injuries to the driver of the Mercedes car, a 39-year-old resident of the village of Noragyugh in the city of Yerevan, and an underage passenger, aged 17. The identity of the deceased body responsible for the execution of the operation has been disclosed by the police. The investigation is still ongoing.
