“Collaboration between Iran and India opens doors for a new transit corridor, with potential for Armenia’s involvement”

Iran and India are collaborating on a transit corridor between the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean, and they are open to working with Armenia on the Persian Gulf – Black Sea transport corridor to explore its potential benefits for the country. This announcement was made by the Indian Ambassador to Armenia, Nilakashy Singh Sahney, and Iran’s authorized representative, at a conference on “New Regional Opportunities” and “Chess Game of Prosperity” in Yerevan on December 5th.

The representatives emphasized that this collaboration in the Eurasian sphere presents a unique opportunity for regional integration and development. Iran’s management has introduced the revitalization program for Chabahar, which could serve as a crucial part of the Persian Gulf – Black Sea corridor. Armenia has expressed keen interest in participating in this project.

The Ambassador also highlighted the historical ties that exist between Armenia and Iran, stating that these connections form the foundation for further development of their relations. He emphasized that the world is undergoing significant changes, with movement being one of the critical factors in shaping the new global order. The April meeting in Yerevan provided a platform for productive political dialogue between Iran, India, and Armenia.
