The electricity supply at the Alaverdi Debed copper smelter has been restored, and in the coming days, the water supply will also be restored. The main issue at the smelter is the Sanahin power plant, which is currently experiencing problems with electricity. Arin Mkrtchyan, the head of the Armenian Environmental Front, announced this on his Facebook page. Gas supply in Alaverdi and the surrounding settlements was also restored recently, and communication issues have been resolved. Experts from “Veolia Jri,” the Inspectorate for Nature Protection, and “Gazprom” are currently on site, working in hazardous areas and performing high-risk and operational tasks.
