The authorities in Azerbaijan have extended the detention period of Arkaadi Ghukasyan, the former president of the Republic of Mountainous Karabakh, who is currently held captive in Azerbaijan. According to APA, the judge presiding over the trial in the Binaqadi district court has proposed and the court has approved an extension of the investigation period. This extension is confirmed due to ongoing military operations. A.Ghukasyan’s detention period has been extended for 5 months. The court has also received a separate proposal to extend the detention of an important military suspect, but the name has not been mentioned.
