“Armenia Takes a Stand Against Corruption: Ministry of Justice Holds Public Discussion on Judicial Reform and Anti-Corruption Strategy”
The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia recently held a public discussion on the program and implementation of the judicial reform and the anti-corruption strategy for 2023. The official presentation of the program, titled “How to Counteract and Actively Use the Anti-Corruption System,” took place on November 29. Notable attendees included Deputy Minister of Justice Karen Karapetyan, Yan Platzingers (Head of the Department of State, Legal and Information Policy at the Staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia), and Maxim Longangen (Director of the Yerevan Press Club). These individuals emphasized the significance of implementing an effective anti-corruption system.
During the public discussion, representatives from government organizations and civil society groups addressed various aspects of the anti-corruption system. These discussions revolved around institutional arrangements, mechanisms for protecting whistleblowers, and other related issues. Participants also deliberated on the importance of conducting targeted events in public administration, improving the education system, enhancing audiovisual coverage of anti-corruption activities, and making relevant information accessible on official government websites.
It’s noteworthy that this event was made possible with financial support from the European Union. The implementation of the anti-corruption system in Armenia is a collaborative effort involving the United Nations Development Program, the Council of Europe, and the European Union.
