“Crisis at Moscow Airports: 1000 Tajikistan Citizens Stranded, Mostly Students”

The official representative of the Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Shokhin Samad, announced that around 1000 citizens of Tajikistan, mainly students studying in Russia, are currently stranded in Moscow airports. The situation for these Tajik citizens remains complex, according to the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As of April 27, 954 Tajik citizens were temporarily detained at the “Vnukovo” airport, with 322 being allowed to enter Russia and 27 being deported, as reported by Samad. Similar situations are also occurring in other Moscow airports, such as “Zhukovsky,” “Domodedovo,” and “Sheremetyevo,” resulting in dozens of Tajik citizens being held in detention centers. The consular service in Moscow is operating 24/7 in order to tackle this issue.
