“Karants Village in Tavush: Fires Rage On as Locals Rally for Freedom at Local Church”

In the village of Karants in Tavush, fires continue to burn as locals gather at the local church to express their desire for freedom.

It’s important to note that the interstate road passing through Karants is currently closed. Many residents from nearby border villages, led by Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan, head of the Tavush diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, attempted to block the road from Agarak to Bagratashen. However, the forces of aggression, wearing red berets and armed with military power, managed to reopen the road and even detained and assaulted several civilians.

Prior to this incident, NEWS.am reported that the governor of the province, Suren Petrosyan, along with 20 other city residents, joined the crowd of protesters. Additionally, the mayor’s bodyguard, Mihran Maksudyan, was apprehended and physically harmed but has since been released.
