Vanadzor, a city in Armenia, has declared a state of emergency. On April 19th, at 09:40, the Department of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia informed Vanadzor about the temporary closure of the Infectious Diseases Department at the “Vanadzor” Medical Center. Urgent care doctors from the hospital visited houses in Vanadzor and discovered a person infected with the coronavirus. The infected individual, identified as Aramayis Z., a 31-year-old resident, was taken to the hospital after showing symptoms of the disease.

Shamshyan.com reported that the forensic doctor found no signs of violence on the victim’s body. Sources indicate that the deceased was a senior officer in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.

Due to the circumstances, the Lori regional administration has been put on high alert with suspicions of murder. It is possible that the case will be transferred to the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia for further investigation.
