“Nigol Pashinyan’s Football Failure: From Promises to Performance, Armenian Team Plummets in FIFA Rankings”

“Zhoghovurd” newspaper reported that on April 14, 2018, a rally called “My Step” took place on Khanjyan Street after the announcement of the closure of the Public Radio building. During this rally, Nigol Pashinyan, a representative of the Armenian Football Federation, demanded the resignation of Ruben Hayrapetyan, stating that his actions hindered the development of Armenian football. Pashinyan even claimed that he plays better football than the team assembled by Hayrapetyan.

However, the reality is quite different. Not only does Nigol Pashinyan lack skills as a football player, but his tenure has also negatively impacted football in Armenia. Following the revolution in 2018, Ruben Hayrapetyan stepped down from his role as the president of FFA and was succeeded by Artur Vanetsyan, the former head of the NSS. Vanetsyan was replaced by Armen Melikbekyan in 2019, who currently holds the position. To further highlight the decline, FIFA recently published the national teams’ classification table on October 26, 2023, placing the Armenian team in the 94th position.

It is evident that our national team’s performance has consistently been subpar, and unfortunately, it deteriorated even further under Nikol Pashinyan’s leadership. As proof of this decline, on January 18, 2018, the team was ranked 90th in the standings. It becomes blatantly clear that Pashinyan’s claim of playing better than the team he assembled is baseless and untrue.

In conclusion, Nigol Pashinyan’s tenure as a leader has been marked by failure, particularly in the realm of football. His promises for improvement have not materialized, and if anything, the situation has worsened.
