“Commission for Protection of Competition Introduces New Regulations for Dairy Product Production and Distribution – What You Need to Know”

The Commission for Protection of Competition is currently discussing new regulations aimed at addressing various issues related to the production and distribution of dairy products and other essential commodities, as well as payment matters for companies and other stakeholders. According to a report by NEWS.am, significant changes have been made to the regulations concerning the production and import of dairy products. Furthermore, a new institution has been established to oversee the implementation of dairy production, with the Commission determining the criteria for its supervision. In cases where the producer of dairy products is an individual, the distributor will have a maximum liability of 25 million AMD. Additionally, the distributor’s liability should be ten times higher than that of the producer. If the distributor fails to make payments within 30 days of the specified contract date, the monitoring authority has the power to limit their liability to their physical capacity. In the event that the breach of these obligations exceeds 10% of the total liability of the preceding year, the Commission may impose penalties. The new regulations are set to take effect on May 6. During the consultation process, the Commission’s employees provided detailed information regarding the implemented changes and answered various inquiries raised by stakeholders.
