In a tragic event, 22 lives have been lost in the suburbs of Tandzania due to a devastating landslide, according to reports from AFP and local authorities. The calamity struck in the Bariad region of the Simuyu District, over 500 kilometers away from the capital city of Dodoma, as large boulders mercilessly covered the victims.

“Our rescue efforts are ongoing, but the death toll currently stands at 22, all of whom were civilians,” revealed Faustine Mtengeti, the regional commissioner responsible for disaster management. “We have thoroughly searched under the debris and are confident that there are no more bodies to be found.”

It is important to note that Tanzania holds the distinction of being the fourth largest gold producer in the entire African continent.
