An explosion has occurred at the Santa Barbara ammunition factory in Scranton, Pennsylvania, according to Atlas News. Witnesses have provided information confirming the incident.

Photographs and videos depicting thick smoke rising from the factory premises have been circulated on the internet.

Emergency services are currently on-site, stating that the situation is under control. However, the cause of the explosion remains unknown.

The factory, operated by Dynamics-Ordnance and Tactical Systems, produces military and other ammunition for the US Army. In particular, it is one of the leading manufacturers of 155mm artillery shells in the United States, with active supply to Ukraine.
