Former PSRC President Gagik Khachatryan’s Health Deteriorates as Trial Advances

The Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court continued the trial of Gagik Khachatryan, former president of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC), on January 8. Khachatryan’s health condition has worsened, but he appeared in court with his defense team to address the accusations against PSRC officials.

Khachatryan and another individual named Karen Khachatryan are both involved in a criminal case that revolves around allegations of abuse of official position, embezzlement, and official forgery. Despite the charges, both individuals deny any wrongdoing and have not made any attempts to flee or impede the justice process.

Furthermore, in 2019, Gagik Khachatryan received mandatory treatment in Germany before returning to Armenia to face the trial. On the other hand, Karen Khachatryan was released on bail and has now appeared in court.
