Preparations for New Year festivities have already commenced in various entertainment centers, as reported by “Publication” magazine. The Yerevan Municipality and administrative districts’ staff have been particularly active in organizing these celebrations. An inquiry was made to investigate how other entertainment centers, such as the Opera, will be marking the New Year.

According to the Ministry of Culture, the New Year event will not be formal but will be similar to previous years. Officials anticipate covering the expenses using their own means. The Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia supported this statement, affirming that no funds from the state budget were allocated for New Year celebrations in the country. They clarified that if any expenses are necessary for official delegations, they will be made in accordance with established rules and will be disclosed to the public.

In response to inquiries, the State Revenue Committee and other institutions have stated that they do not have any immediate plans for expenditures towards New Year celebrations. The SRC also mentioned that corporate parties will no longer be held starting from 2020. Additionally, the Ministry of Defense has confirmed that there will be no official celebration organized by their department. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has asserted that no agreements have been signed with any organizations for New Year festivities, leaving open the possibility for future arrangements.

Given the circumstances, it appears that either there are concerning issues surrounding the New Year celebrations or there is a tendency to respond to inquiries via formal letters after the New Year has passed.
