Armenian Minister Highlights Challenges of Accessible Education and Healthcare, Calls for Civil Society Involvement in Social Justice

More than 100 Armenian fathers, excluding those who have relocated from Artsakh, are currently grappling with the challenges of accessing education, healthcare, and other essential services in Armenia. The objective is to ensure that no individual is left behind in the rehabilitation process. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Narek Mkrtchyan, highlighted the crucial role of civil society in assisting the government to address and resolve these issues. According to him, social justice depends not solely on the government, but also requires active participation from civil society. Mkrtchyan further emphasized that the provision of social justice is intertwined with an undocumented social contract and social dialogue.

“The responsibility for facilitating this dialogue lies with the government. It is crucial to comprehend that this process is particularly challenging during times of adversity,” stated the minister.

He also mentioned that Armenia has endured numerous hardships over the past three years, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the war, the resulting post-war crisis, and the relocation of residents from Artsakh.
