The International Organization for Health (IOH) has issued a warning that the healthcare system in Gaza needs immediate restoration to prevent a potential rise in death toll from illnesses surpassing the casualties from violence, as reported by NBC News. During a recent press conference, IOH spokesperson Margarete Haris emphasized the urgency of the matter, stating, “If we cannot restore the healthcare system, we will sadly witness more lives lost to diseases rather than violence.” Haris further drew attention to the growing number of chronic illnesses associated with the worsening health conditions in the region.
