Economy Minister Arman Khachatryan recently took part in the presentation of the “Climate Fiscal Plan in Armenia,” an event organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on November 28. The presentation was graced by the presence of ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.

The main objective of the presentation was to address Armenia’s needs in terms of sustainable economic investments and climate planning financing, with the aim of minimizing the impact of climate change.

In his remarks, Arman Khachatryan emphasized the detrimental effects of climate change on agriculture and stressed the need for farmers to be aware of and embrace the associated risks. He also highlighted that current agricultural support programs include discussions on climate change.

The presentation offered a regional approach that developing countries can utilize to assess and manage climate change risks, as well as optimize financial resources.
