President Khachaturyan Welcomes Canadian Delegation to Discuss Armenia’s Participation in EAEU Inter-Parliamentary Forum
The President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, welcomed a high-level delegation from Canada led by Leo Housakos, a member of the Canadian Senate. The meeting centered around the participation of the Armenian government in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) inter-parliamentary forum, which recently took place in Yerevan. President Khachaturyan expressed his appreciation for Canada’s support and highlighted the significant achievements in the Armenian-Canadian relations. He also emphasized the importance of the recently opened Canadian Embassy in Yerevan in strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Leo Housakos reaffirmed the strong bond between Canada and Armenia, highlighting the shared commitment towards democracy, human rights, freedom, and the rule of law. The discussion focused on fostering comprehensive development in Armenian-Canadian cooperation, promoting continuous progress in bilateral relations, and preserving cultural ties.
To honor his contributions to the advancement of bilateral relations between Armenia and Canada, President Khachaturyan awarded Leo Housakos with a medal of honor at the conclusion of the meeting.
