Controversial Former President of Artsakh, Vitali Balasanyan, Summoned by National Security Service for Questioning Amidst Allegations of Involvement with Defense Minister in Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict
The “People” newspaper has reported that former President of Artsakh, Vitali Balasanyan, has been summoned by the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia (NSS) for questioning. This comes in relation to his recent controversial actions that supposedly have an impact on the security situation of Artsakh. Our sources have revealed that Balasanyan is being questioned about his alleged involvement with Samvel Aslanyan, the defense minister of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, in connection with recent military operations.
Aslanyan himself is currently under investigation and is suspected of treason and espionage. He has been in custody at the National Security Service detention center for approximately five months. The investigators are now in the process of gathering Balasanyan’s testimony to aid in their ongoing investigation.
