Yesterday, I had the incredible opportunity to spend time with some of my closest allies, who are also defenders of justice. Lawyer Armen Babayan shared a heartfelt post on his Facebook page, expressing his recent victory. Just three days ago, he successfully fought for the release of Tigran, an 18-year-old who had been wrongfully imprisoned. Through an arduous journey, Armen Babayan pursued justice and ensured that the judge rectified their earlier mistake which caused a 1.5-month delay.

The pivotal moment came on Friday when it was officially announced that Tigran’s arrest would be amended. There was concern that the criminal proceedings might be halted altogether, but the judge promptly assigned the case to a jury. Armen Babayan had made a conscious decision not to inform Tigran’s parents during this delicate process, as he didn’t want to give them false hope. It was a decision made out of consideration for the emotional toll it could have taken on them.

After carefully reviewing Tigran’s case, the stern judge ultimately acquitted him, much to everyone’s relief. The most heartwarming part of this whole experience was witnessing Tigran and Armen Babayan visit the young man’s family. In that moment, they were able to share the incredible news that their beloved son had been freed.
