“Yerevan Mayor Karen Grigoryan Removed from Post Amidst Inner Turmoil: Tensions Mount in Municipality’s Field”

The Mayor of Yerevan, Karen Grigoryan, has reportedly been dismissed from his position at the Municipality of Yerevan’s Department of Construction and Urban Development, according to the “Hraparak” newspaper. Sources reveal that the reason for his dismissal is a split within the municipality’s field. Grigoryan’s department has now been placed under the supervision of Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan, which has caused ongoing tensions between the two officials.

Grigoryan has insisted that he still remains a part of Mayor Avinyan’s administration, but this decision has faced significant disagreement and is unlikely to be reversed. Our sources reveal that as a consequence, Grigoryan, along with his two deputies and three division heads, have filed appeals for release.

It is worth noting that Grigoryan is considered to be the protege of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and has been working in public administration under the guidance of Narek Mkrtchyan, the director of the Prime Minister’s staff.

While these dismissals may not come as a surprise, they certainly carry consequences. In the coming days, we will strive to provide more detailed information about this news article.
