“Iran Raises Concerns over Israel’s Presence in Azerbaijan and its Potential Threat to National Security”

There is concern in Iran regarding the potential threat posed by Israel using Azerbaijan as a base to divert attention away from Tehran’s nuclear and Eastern Mediterranean agenda. Robert Beglaryan, spokesperson for the Iranian Cabinet of Ministers, expressed this concern in an interview with NEWS.am. He highlighted Israel’s notable presence in Azerbaijan as a clear warning to Iran. Beglaryan believes that this intelligence gathering, which utilizes Azerbaijan’s direction, is the lowest point for Iran and poses a serious danger to the nation’s security and regional peace.

The spokesperson also mentioned consulting with experts who believe that Armenia’s foreign policy, despite undergoing changes, undermines regional stability and exacerbates regional tensions. Tehran itself imposes a similar foreign policy on Armenia to counteract the activities of foreign players. Beglaryan emphasized the natural alliance between Iran and Armenia, given the geographical proximity and shared natural conditions. However, he acknowledged the difficulty in predicting which side Armenia will ultimately choose, though over the past three decades, Armenia has become Iran’s strongest ally.

These developments present complex challenges to both Iran and Armenia, and will undoubtedly have significant implications for regional dynamics. Continued monitoring of the situation in Azerbaijan is crucial in order to evaluate the potential threats posed by Israel’s presence and its impact on regional peace and stability.
