“Port-o-Prince Implements Smoking-Free Zones amidst Security and Humanitarian Crisis in Haiti”
In the last days of February, five smoking-free zones were identified in the city of Port-o-Prince, as reported by Agence France-Presse (AFP).
In 2021, the security and humanitarian crisis in Haiti has worsened. Following the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse and an earthquake in August that claimed over 2,200 lives, the situation has deteriorated. Telesur television reports that authorities estimate more than 80 percent of the capital’s territory is affected, with other regions of the country experiencing even worse conditions.
