Turkish Authorities Bust Counterfeit Identification Ring, Seize Luxury Cars Worth $3.5 Million
In Istanbul, Turkish authorities have conducted multiple inspections resulting in the confiscation of over 30 counterfeit identification documents and the seizure of two dozen luxury cars, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The seized luxury vehicles include prestigious models such as the Bentley Continental GT, Porsche Taycan, Ferrari 458, Mercedes-Benz GLS, and various other high-end cars. In total, the authorities have acquired 23 cars with a combined value of $3.5 million.
Reports indicate that these cars were sourced from the stolen vehicles market. The primary objective of these counterfeit inspections was to disrupt the activities of a criminal organization headed by Khan Aykin, whose estimated assets amount to $1 billion.
Currently, it remains uncertain how these valuable cars will be utilized or their ultimate destination.
