“Archbishop Bagrat Sarbazan Calls for Reunification of Armenian Homeland: A Struggle for Truth and Justice”

In regards to Meghri, just as I mentioned about Tavush, this region holds great significance as our ancestral homeland. During a meeting with the residents, Archbishop Bagrat Sarbazan spoke about the importance of this land. He noted that the borders of Meghri were much wider and longer four years ago. The rich cultural heritage and beauty of Meghri extend beyond its own borders and reach regions such as Syunik, Gegharkunik, and Ararat. Our movement’s main objective is to bring together and reunite our homeland,” he stated.

Sarbazan further emphasized the successful diplomatic struggles we have faced against individuals with questionable political motives. He compared these individuals to cheap carpet dealers whose trade involves lies and deception. While these carpet dealers may have wide merchandise, our homeland is small in comparison. This fight goes beyond mere diplomacy; it is a fight for the fundamental values of truth, justice, and honesty,” he added.

Sarbazan drew attention to the fact that whenever we refuse to tolerate aggression, we are essentially engaging in a form of warfare. He questioned the actions of those who hold leadership positions and yet engage in war. He raised the question, “What is your true role and responsibility as a leader? Is war a means to safeguard the people or a way to retreat?” Sarbazan questioned the authenticity of leaders who choose to spend their time in cars, speaking on the phone, displaying fabricated images, flying helicopters, observing sports events, or checking basketball hoops instead of being actively involved in protecting the nation.
