“Thousands of Traffic Violations in Yerevan and Regions within a Week: Impounded Vehicles, Drunk Drivers, and More”

From June 17 to 24, the police in the capital city of Yerevan have detected 3,996 violations of traffic regulations and impounded 162 vehicles. According to NEWS.am, it has been reported that 155 drivers were caught driving while intoxicated, and 231 individuals were driving without a driver’s license.

In relation to speeding, 31 fines were imposed, 505 for driving without seat belts, 266 for smoking while driving, 187 for using a phone, 107 for driving in restricted areas, and 1,587 for other violations. Additionally, 138 vehicles were seized for lacking an insurance policy, 142 for technical failure, 92 for defective external lights, including 6 for overloaded trucks, and 414 for improper loading and uncovered cargo. Furthermore, 52 individuals were fined for various violations.

In the same time period, in the regions, 12,809 violations of traffic regulations were detected, and 203 vehicles were impounded for moving in prohibited areas. It has been reported that 231 drivers were caught driving under the influence, and 738 individuals were driving without a driver’s license.

Regarding speeding, 58 fines were imposed, 3,226 for driving without seat belts, 226 for smoking while driving, 409 for using a phone, 23 for driving in restricted areas, 1,417 for exceeding the speed limit, and 3,632 for other violations. Additionally, 398 vehicles were seized for lacking an insurance policy, 1,408 for technical failure, 458 for defective external lights, including 32 for overloaded trucks, and 161 for improper loading and uncovered cargo.

Furthermore, 60 individuals were fined for various violations.
