“Tragic Toll: Over 1,900 Children Injured and 551 Lives Lost in Ukraine’s Ongoing Conflict”

According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, since the war began, over 1,939 children have been injured in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. As of June 19, 2024, the number of child fatalities has reached 551, while 1,388 children have suffered varying degrees of injuries. The regions most affected by the conflict include Donetsk with 539 injured, Kharkiv with 390, Kherson with 152, Dnipropetrovsk with 151, Kyiv with 130, Zaporizhzhia with 108, and Mykolaiv with 107. Recent reports indicate that in the past five days, a child was injured due to Russian shelling. On June 17, two girls aged seven and seventeen were among six other children aged 6, 8, 10, and 11 who were injured in Poltava. On June 16, two children aged four and seven were injured in Novaya Poltava village in the Donetsk region, while a 13-year-old child was injured in Pisky village in the Izium district of the Kharkiv region on the same day.
