“Russian and CSTO Leaders Forge Groundbreaking Military Cooperation Accord, Paving Way for Long-Term Partnership”

Russian and CSTO leaders have signed a Comprehensive Military Cooperation Agreement after their negotiations. The Russian leader had already prepared the necessary document, emphasizing that it will establish a foundation for cooperation between Russia and CSTO in the coming years. This agreement replaces previous bilateral documents, such as the 1961 Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, the 2000 Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance, and the 2000 and 2001 Declarations of Moscow and Yerevan.

It was also announced earlier that Yuri Ushakov, the Chief of Staff of the President, assisted with international inquiries, confirming that the new document is applicable internationally and regionally. It is considered an urgent measure to ensure stability in the global and regional political situation, given the significant changes in the quality of bilateral relations. Moreover, it is expected to have a greater impact in the Caucasus region of Eurasia.
