“Armenian Entrepreneurs Launch Amaryan Charitable Foundation to Support Displaced Armenians in Artsakh”
Armenian entrepreneur and investor David Amaryan, along with his brother Vardan Amaryan, has recently launched the Amaryan Charitable Foundation. This initiative aims to provide direct support to forcibly displaced Armenians of Artsakh during this challenging time for Armenia. The foundation focuses on advancing educational programs, promoting a healthy lifestyle and sports, nurturing cultural initiatives, and providing assistance to the youth through various strategic projects.
The foundation’s journey began in the ancestral village of the Amaryan family, Verishen, in the Syunik region. They have already provided warm coats and shoes to displaced children from Artsakh in this region. David Amaryan expressed his deep concern for the ongoing crisis and emphasized the importance of comprehensive and consistent programs to address the multi-sectoral issues faced by the Armenian community.
Vardan Amaryan also highlighted the challenges posed by the situation in Artsakh and emphasized the foundation’s objective of ensuring that every Armenian has the opportunity to live and create with dignity. They plan to implement various initiatives based on the needs of their beneficiaries.
The foundation’s first beneficiaries include 89 displaced compatriots from Artsakh and 157 socially disadvantaged individuals in Verishen village. The foundation provided them with warm coats, shoes, and comprehensive school packages. They also extended aid to the local school by contributing to gymnasium repairs and providing sports equipment.
The initial budget for the foundation’s initiatives is nearly $305,000, which will be allocated for execution in Syunik throughout 2023 to 2024. The foundation aims to expand its programs to other regions and communities in Armenia in the future.
