“Amnesty International Exposes Shocking Human Rights Violations and Torture in Yerevan: Urgent Call for Armenia to Address the Crisis”

Amnesty International’s researcher Natalya Nozadzhen has obtained information revealing severe human rights violations and cases of torture in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Nozadzhen emphasized the urgency for the Armenian authorities to address these violations, including those involving the excessive use of force. During a press conference held by Amnesty International, she also stressed the importance of accountability and justice for the victims on an international level, as well as the involvement of relevant stakeholders in the field of human rights. Furthermore, Amnesty International stated in its announcement that the law enforcement must exercise restraint when using force, reserving it only for situations where it is absolutely necessary and in proportion to achieving legitimate law enforcement objectives.
