“Ruble Plummets as Sanctions Hit Russia: Central Bank Official Warns of Worsening Exchange Rate Depreciation”

Today, the ruble exchange rate experienced a significant decrease in the morning, which was expected due to the announcement of sanctions against Russia. During a session of the National Assembly on June 13, Martin Galstyan, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia, addressed the impact of these sanctions. He stated that the depreciation of the exchange rate has intensified, causing difficulties for companies that were previously engaged in ruble transactions at the Moscow Exchange.

“For those who were hesitant or opposed to the depreciation, the risks have now escalated. I haven’t been closely following the exact situation as I am currently in the process of relocating offices. However, according to reports, the situation is deteriorating,” Galstyan mentioned.
