In a joint meeting of the RA interagency committee, it was revealed that employees of law enforcement agencies had engaged in corrupt activities by transferring bribes to judges and officials involved in the judiciary. The information was reported by the Anti-Corruption Committee to NEWS.am.

During the investigation, sufficient evidence was presented regarding A.S., an employee of the Department for Security of the RA NSS ‘Armenia,’ who had transferred a total of 465,000 AMD in bribes to last instance judicial officials and officials, including mobile phones and other equipment. A.S. was supposed to receive a salary ranging from 20,000 to 40,000 AMD for each mobile phone transferred as part of the bribe.

In order to abuse his authority, A.S. met with interested parties who, from July to November 2022, transferred a total of 465,000 AMD in cash to him, which he then transferred to the judicial officer as a bribe.

In another case investigated by the Anti-Corruption Committee, it was discovered that H.M., a nurse at the “Vana-Jur” division of the RA Ministry of Health’s Center for Maternal and Child Health, had also abused his authority by transferring a total of 100,000 AMD as a bribe to last instance judicial officials and officials. However, the bribe was not completed as the mobile phones were discovered and seized by employees during working hours at the “Vana-Jur” division.

The investigation into the bribery has been completed, and the case materials have been sent to court with a criminal indictment for corruption, according to the statement.
