“Prime Minister Launches Consultations for Energy Governance Council and Restructuring of Energy Administration”
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced the launch of consultations on the formation of the Energy Governance Council. The council will discuss the restructuring model for the Energy Administration.
In his opening remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted the four main pillars of the new Energy Administration structure. The first pillar, the establishment of the Eastern Energy Administration, has already been completed. The design of regulations for the formation of state and community energy structures has been discussed and accepted. Now, the final model for the energy administration restructuring needs to be determined. The results of this planning work will mark the beginning of the implementation phase.
It has been reported that a draft of a new law on energy governance is already in the public sphere. The comprehensive operations of the Energy Administration, including the structure, territorial coverage, and fundamental issues related to its activities, have been taken into consideration. Various surveys and proposals have been presented, which will inform the final model of the Energy Administration.
Prime Minister Pashinyan has once again emphasized the importance of ongoing reforms in the energy sector and the need to modernize the current capabilities of the Energy Administration with the help of technology.
