“Narendra Modi Takes Oath as India’s Prime Minister for Historic Third Term Amidst Global Spectacle”

Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony as the Prime Minister of India for a record third term has been announced by Reuters. The ceremony took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the presidential palace in New Delhi, in the presence of thousands of high-ranking officials, including the heads of neighboring countries, Hollywood stars, and other dignitaries.

Modi, accompanied by his deputy Javaharlal Nehru, is only the second person to serve as prime minister for a third term. At 73 years old, Modi was elected in the recent elections on June 1 with the support of the National Democratic Alliance, a coalition of 14 regional parties across 14 states. While his alliance didn’t secure a clear majority as in his previous terms, the result is still seen as a partial success for Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party.
