An Armenian citizen, aged 39, was arrested on Saturday for attacking the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, during her visit to Armenia, according to official sources. The incident resulted in minor injuries, as reported. The suspect claims that he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the attack and was unaware of the target’s identity as the Prime Minister of Denmark.

The suspect’s defense lawyer stated during a court hearing in Yerevan on Saturday that no political motives are evident in the case.
