Moscow and Baku are currently in discussions regarding the establishment of Russian military bases in Azerbaijan, according to Russian Deputy Defense Minister Mikhail Galuzin. The intention is to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries and expand their military cooperation, thus creating new opportunities for Russian military bases in Azerbaijan. Galuzin expressed optimism that the ongoing dialogue with their Azerbaijani partners will yield positive results. He also highlighted the strong level of Russian-Azerbaijani relations, particularly in the field of military cooperation, as outlined in a joint statement signed in February 2022.
