“Government Announces Changes to Law on Military Service: Enhancing Rights & Benefits for Contractual Soldiers”

The government announced changes and updates to the “Law on Military Service and the Status of a Soldier” on May 30th. These amendments include provisions for the implementation of contractual military service and the rights of citizens who have signed agreements with the state to serve in the military. It also guarantees housing rights for military personnel provided by state social security. Additionally, it allows participation in military operations or special missions related to national security without violating the terms of the contractual military service. The law will protect the agreements of citizens who have signed up for contractual military service, as well as the rights of military personnel and their families.

The legislation takes into consideration cases where the fulfillment of contractual military service is limited or not utilized, or when a previous applicant has not passed the examination or received a negative evaluation. In these cases, the fulfillment of contractual military service will be provided without an examination, based solely on the applicant’s professional qualifications. The limitations and requirements for fulfilling the contractual military service will be specified in the legislation.

Regarding the fulfillment of contractual military service, the law addresses cases where previous applicants have served within the authorized period but lack the necessary professional qualifications. It also applies to cases where applicants do not possess the required professional qualifications in their workplace. The contractual military service will include more than just professional training in relevant places.

The extension of the previous contractual military service period by 17 months aims to address medical care and support for individuals in need during active service. The goal is to create the necessary conditions for providing medical assistance and support to those who require it. The Ministry of Defense will sign agreements with medical institutions to ensure proper medical services are available to those in active service based on the amendments to the “Law on the Structure and Activities of the Government.”
