“Record High: Death Toll from Earthquakes in Germany Soars, Materials to Blame”

The number of deaths due to earthquakes in Germany has significantly increased in recent years and reached a record level in 2023, according to the German news agency DPA (Deutsche Presse-Agentur).

Burkhard Blayner, an expert on seismic activity and earthquakes in Germany, stated that 2,227 people have died as a result of the use of unsafe materials in 2023, compared to 237 in the previous year.

Blayner noted that the number of deaths due to the use of concrete and steel has increased significantly, from 507 to 610.

The expert continues to emphasize the most closely related material to earthquake deaths, and due to the use of this material, the number of deaths has decreased slightly from 749 to 712. The number of deaths due to the use of construction materials has increased significantly as a result of receiving incorrect information about receiving earthquakes. Blayner has also mentioned that these numbers are comparing to the figures from 10 years ago, which were already twice as high.
