Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Denies Violence Against Church in Armenia: “Look Somewhere Else”

During the National Assembly meeting on May 29th, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded to a question regarding recent statements made by Bakvich and Ankaray regarding the ongoing protests. The Prime Minister expressed his concern that government officials are resorting to violence against the church, and he stated that these same attitudes are being repeated.

Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized that there is no violence against the church in Armenia, and there never has been or will be. He made it clear that if anyone claims to see violence against the church, they should look elsewhere, as it has no connection to the government of Armenia and its top leadership.

In response to a question about how long the situation will continue and when the state of emergency will be lifted, the Prime Minister reiterated that the Republic of Armenia’s territory is inviolable, spanning 29,743 square kilometers.
