On May 29, a major car accident took place in the Kotayk province. At around 01:30 am, on the Balahovit-Abovyan highway in the administrative district of Abovyan city, two cars collided. The drivers involved were identified as 30-year-old Newik Khachatryan, who was driving a “LADA” car, and 51-year-old Gevorg Maranjyan, who was driving a “Toyota” car. According to Shamshyan.com, one person sustained serious injuries and was promptly transferred to the Abovian medical center.

The accident is believed to have been caused by the driver of the “LADA” losing control of the vehicle due to slippery road conditions.
